Supporting a summer of sport

Working in the construction industry is an active job that requires high levels of energy, so naturally here at D.W. Nye we’re drawn to sports and outdoor pursuits. Keen to encourage any initiatives that pass on this love of all things sporting, we have been delighted to work with two local teams recently to give their clubs a boost.

Look out for the D.W. Nye logo emblazoned on Horsham Rugby Club’s Colts’ (under 18) team kit this season and into next year. We’re proud to sponsor the most successful Colts team Horsham RFC has ever produced which is currently ranked as one of the top four teams in the country. Impressed by their winning attitude and obvious ability on the pitch, we’ve watched the team’s progress with delight as they’ve remained unbeaten throughout the Sussex Premiership for the last two seasons, having taken home the Sussex Cup last year.

Andy Brock, the Forwards Coach for the Colts, said:

“Sponsorship assistance is incredibly important. It goes straight back into the team, maintaining facilities, and ensuring we can continue to provide regular coaching. We are extremely grateful to Rex and everyone at D.W. Nye for supporting us.”

From rugby to football, we were pleased to be able to offer a helping hand to the Dorking Wanderers football club recently, by donating materials to help build their new Fanzone.

The club’s home, Meadowbank Stadium at Meadowbank Park in Mill Lane, has just undergone extensive renovations and celebrated its grand opening with a celebrity football match and summer party. Our donation of £5,000 worth of materials helped to complete the project and supply furniture for supporters as they cheer on the team. The package included fencing and outdoor tables as well as groundwork materials and supplies to build a Fanzone-essential - the outside bar.

Jeremy Pain, Vice Chairman at Dorking Wanderers, got in touch to say:

“We’re thrilled that D.W. Nye was able to support us with this huge project. Without the company’s help it would be incredibly difficult for us to raise the funds necessary to complete our renovations. The Fanzone looks great and is going to be an integral experience for all home and away fans.”

Following the work, the ground is looking outstanding, and we hope these new facilities will help inspire the team to even greater success on the field!

We are very proud to be a local business supporting local causes. We wish both teams every success for the coming season – we’ll be cheering them on from the side-lines.
