Nothing puts a smile on our face more than helping local good causes. So, it was with great pleasure that we awarded £500 to our first Proud to be Local winner in recognition of its impressive work.
Following a huge response to the public vote, our first community fund winner was announced as Horsham-based group 4TheYouth. The fund is part of our county-wide campaign to showcase and support four different community groups and charities in Sussex during 2018. The group won after receiving a huge number of votes via our various voting channels – from our in-store voting box to our Facebook page.
4TheYouth is a charity set up to run youth projects for young people in the Horsham district and surrounding areas. The group runs five generic youth club sessions for young people, who can choose to take part in sports activities, play games and develop new skills. The £500 will be used to buy equipment for its brand new Saturday club, The Woodland Project. Using a Forest Schools’
