110x300mm x 1¼"/1½" (32mm) pipe top and side inlet connections.
For use with limestone chippings.
Receives discharge from a condensing boiler.
For external use only.
19/23mm x 32mm solvent weld fitting provided to increase size of discharge pipe before it passes through external wall.
Installation Guidelines on Condensate Discharge:
The condensate from the boiler should, where possible, be discharged into the internal drainage of the household drainage system.
Internal condensate discharge pipework must be a minimum diameter of 19mm (which is generally viewed as 22mm OD) and must be of corrosion-free plastic pipe.
The discharge pipework must 'fall' at least 45mm per metre away from the boiler and take the shortest possible route to the discharge point or waste system.
It is recommended if the condensate pipework has to be taken externally to the termination pipe, the pipework should be no less than 32mm in diameter - The external pipework should be as short in length as possible and should be protected with waterproof lagging from extreme weather conditions.
Where the boiler already has an internal trap, no other trap should be installed as this will cause the boiler trap to malfunction.
Waste pipe fittings should be kept to a minimum as the discharge flow should be as free as possible.
If the discharge pipe is terminated into a gully, the pipe should be cut below the grating cover and above the water level - The pipe end entering the gully should be cut at 45°.
External Installation to a Soakaway:
When installing a soakaway the ground conditions must be taken into consideration - It is recommended that the soakaway is not installed near any service pipework such as water or electrical mains cables and the installation of the soakaway should be a minimum of 500mm away from the building.
The McAlpine soakaway should be installed in a hole depth of approximately 400mm minimum x 200mm in diameter.
The soakaway should then be placed in the hole with the cut holes in the soakaway facing away from the foundations of the building.
The soakaway should then be filled with 10mm limestone chippings.
Soakaway Installation:
The condensate pipework may terminate above or below ground level - If above ground the condensate pipe must be protected with a waterproof lagging.
The pipe end entering the soakaway must be at a depth of 25mm minimum and the end of the pipe cut at 45°.
It is recommended that the soakaway is inspected during the annual service of the boiler.
